Our April meeting was packed with good stuff! We finally got to see the finished version of our beautiful group project: our QuiltCon charity quilt. It is back from Austin and is now ready to be donated to a children’s shelter. We got more information about our upcoming workshops for 2015 with exciting teachers Pam Rocco, Mike “Mac” McNamara, and Maria Shell. We are so lucky to have these opportunities! We discussed our fall retreat, our new refreshments sign-up list, and two swaps happening at our May meeting: mug rugs and scraps. After some particularly awesome door prizes, we enjoyed a presentation by our Member Spotlight featured speaker, Tami Levin. Tami has her own long-arm quilting business and she told us all about it and brought in many samples of her work. It was so interesting and we had so many questions. We might need Tami to do another talk soon!
Here are a few sights from April:
Tami with a few examples of her long-arm quilting.
Pam showed some Fibonacci quilts, all made with her Quilter’s Newsletter pattern.
Renee and Jeannie have been busy too.
More pictures are up on Flickr and Instagram. See you next month at Hart’s Fabric!
