The SBAMQG had another successful evening of business and fun at the wonderful Hart’s Fabric in Santa Cruz, CA. Our August 4 meeting featured special guest speaker, Chelsea Hard, who entertained us with an up-to-the-minute report on QuiltCon 2016. Chelsea is an expert QuiltCon participant and she shared her tips and advice for getting the most out of the show. She encourages all of us at the SBAMQG to go to QuiltCon, attend classes and lectures, submit our quilts, and volunteer. Very exciting!
Tina Michalik shared the news that she is going to be teaching a class on the techniques to make a quilt like “Much Ado About Nothing,” her giant improv bed quilt.
Remember this beauty? You can make one too on October 3 at the Aptos Community Foundation.
We had a nice selection of door prizes. Lucky Heidi won a wedge ruler!
After our usual guild business, we had our famous Sew and Tell:
And Tina finished off by sharing progress on the ultimate group project:
See you all in September!
