December 2015 Meeting Recap

December brings big things for the South Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild and this month was no exception. Between quilt show deadlines, elections, parties, and swaps, we’ve been busy and our meeting at Hart’s Fabric was a great way to finish off an equally great year.

First up, we are happy to introduce our new officers for 2016, who were unanimously elected in a landslide vote:

Gabrielle Robles – Treasurer

Chelsea Hard – President

Renee Tallman – Secretary

Pam Rocco – Vice President

The new board is excited to start working together and having some fun, too. And the guild thanks outgoing board members Lynne Nostrant, Mary Skillicorn, and Therese Ponder for donating their time and efforts to the SBAMQG in 2015.

In other news, our annual end of the year party and fabric swap was a blast, with the sharing of beautiful fabrics, lots of delicious treats, and the most excellent door prizes: Five Hart’s gift certificates!

Lastly, the QuiltCon West quilt entry deadline has passed, but that’s ok because everyone entered a quilt with plenty of time to spare, right? Our amazing charity quilt committee made their deadline with some very impressive work! In the unlikely event that you missed the QuiltCon deadline, there is still time to enter a quilt in the SBAMQG group exhibit in the local PVQA show in February, so get sewing!

For Sew and Tell, it was beginning to look very much like Christmas with these stunning quilts:

We had a couple of finished workshop wonders:
