Our February meeting brought several announcements and some amazing show and tell from our members. Above, you can see Emily announcing our guild’s participation in Alyssa Kychner’s Skill Builder Block of the month! This promises to be informative and fun, especially with how adorable the design of the quilt is.
Will you be following along with us? Along with a great design, Alyssa includes video tutorials to guide you along in learning how to hone your quilting skills such as understanding color and value, precision piecing, glue basting, paper piecing, and something she calls Piec-lique. We are in for some fun watching everyone’s quilt progress.
This month we had some amazing show and tell! On the left, Renee showed us her amazing flying geese quilt. It’s pieced with One Seam Flying Geese for a three dimensional look. On the right, we have Pam’s version of an X plus quilt. She loved Karen’s version so much, that she wanted to make one for herself.
Next up were two improv quilts. On the left is Jo’s, and on the right is Pam’s. This is why improv is so great – no limits!
Pam again on the left with half-square triangles. On the right, Jeannie designed and pieced her first modern quilt. She loved the freedom she felt in making this quilt and we all loved the color and modern shapes.
And last but not least is this gorgeous and graphic tree quilt in beautiful rainbow order. Against the black background, it’s so striking!
If you would like to join us, we welcome you! We meet at Hart’s Fabric on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30. See you there!!
