July 2015 Meeting Recap

Did you know that the SBAMQG meets the first Tuesday of every month at the best fabric store on the central coast, Hart’s Fabric? We met again this week and had a great presentation by members of our charity quilt committee who shared their concept for our guild’s 2016 QuiltCon charity quilt. The team has done a terrific job so far and will undoubtedly produce a beautiful and unique piece.

Some other news from this week: Santa Cruz and the SBAMQG will be well represented in the quilt that the Charleston MQG is making in honor of the Charleston Emanuel AME Church, who recently experienced a huge tragedy. Twelve of our members made blocks which will be contributed to their efforts. Registration for both our Mac McNamara and Maria Shell workshops are now open. Don’t miss these exciting events! And, just for fun, we had a White Elephant gift exchange, which provided laughs and silliness all around. Here are some highlights from Sew and Tell:

Tina shared a classic, Lynne shared improv, and the newbies even got in on the action! All-in-all, another successful meeting.

I’m sorry Karen! I can’t find it in my computer or oilnne anywhere. I’m thinking it might have been a printed pattern that someone gave me. Hopefully within the next few weeks I’ll get a chance to sort through all my quilting supplies it’ll turn up. I’ll let you know if I find it! Lisa recently posted..
