23.06.06 GENERAL MEETING Hybrid In-Person and Zoom

6:40 p.m. Meeting called to order by President Isabelle Selak        

Announcements:

  • QuiltCon 2024 Registration open 8.15 Quilt entries 9.01 – 10.31
  • Windham fabric challenge – use four of six colors
  • Scrappy – design challenge/minimum 30 fabrics
  • Maximalism = colors/shapes
  • Irene Roberts MQG video sample

Community Quilt for this year:

  • Anna Brenkwitz and Lori Green will Co-Chair project (Wahoo!)
  • Fabric has been ordered Sign up to participate
  • Only 80 quilts will be accepted this year Done by 9.30
  • Design completed end of June Pieced by July

Challenge for Every Other Month – Presented by Karen Foster

  • Cheers Challenge
  • Inspiration:  favorite mug, glass beer stein, wine glass
  • Complete by August Meeting/ use stash – do not buy fabrics

Retreat – Darlene Talukder Chair (Yay!!)

  • Volunteers happily accepted
  • 9.15 – 9.17, Happy Valley Retreat Center – 4:00 p.m. Friday to 2:00 p.m. Sunday
  • Registration to open soon $50 deposit
  • Massage $115 –  60 minute, Maddie Fister masseuse
  • $150 – 90 minute
  • $10 reduction if more than 10 signups
  • Activities: cyanotype dying with Mickey Beebe
  • Games
  • COVID test on arrival
  • Mattresses are all new with one side soft, other side less soft
