March Guild Meeting started with Kelly Orr, the President of Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild introducing the Juried Invitational Quilt Show at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. The show is open to all 4 Bay Area Modern Quilt Guilds including ours! It will coincide with their exhibit of Ohio Amish Quilts, and each quilt entered should be “inspired” by Amish Quilting.
Next Tina introduced the Michael Miller FREE Petal Pinwheels Fabric Challenge, sure to spawn a lot of bright and cheery quilts! Each quilted object will be due June 23rd.
Then, after a quick tantalizing reveal of the Jacquie Gering Workshop in July, came the Great Pincushion Swap!
Look at all those adorable pincushions!!
Some even got to swap with each other!!
Adrianne and Julie traded pincushions in similar colors!
At Sew and Tell, Dana and Tina shared their “Radiant Orchid” Quilts– just one more challenge we couldn’t include on our roster, but would be totally fun to do anyway!
More gorgeous sew and tells!
Then Pam gave used Karen’s back to give us a tutorial on so-called “Easy” Puzzle Blocks!
Well, we can tell she got it down!
Caroline showed us her beautiful finished sunflower quilt…I think I remember her working on this at the first Retreat!
All in all, a great, and LONG meeting!!
