October 2015 Meeting Recap

Thank you to Santa Cruz’s best fabric store, Hart’s Fabric, for again hosting the SBAMQG’s monthly meeting. It was a smashing success! Some of the more important announcements included:

It’s not too late to sign up for our Maria Shell workshop, “Making Prints out of Solids,” on Saturday, November 7. The price of $62 for members and $72 for non-members is a great deal. Have you checked out Maria’s work yet? If not, you should! Please contact us at SBAMQG@gmail.com to join us for this terrific event.

Our own, supremely talented, Mickey Beebe announced that her traditional-style quilt, Pennsylvania Star of Bethlehem, has been selected to be the signature quilt of next year’s Chicago International Quilt Festival, which takes place April 7-9. Her quilt will be pictured in all the show’s advertising, postcards, souvenirs, etc. How exciting is this? We are so proud of Mickey!

It’s the season when we start getting geared up for elections for the next year’s leadership positions. Are you interested in becoming a member of the SBAMQG board? We are looking for a new President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary for 2016. Come to the November meeting ready to nominate yourself or a willing friend for a spot on the board and we will be voting at our December meeting. Please consider running for a spot. It’s fun and your guild needs you!

Tonight’s Sew and Tell was notable for its display of COLOR!
