Anna reported on her Quilt Con experience. Jacquie Gering was the featured speaker. There were lectures, demos, and there were 600 quilts on display. All MQG members can download the app and view all the quilts. Overall, she found the show very inspirational.
The retreat is opening to non-members tomorrow. The theme will be Cinco de Mayo. There will be a sew day on Sunday at 10am at Pat’s house to make swag bags for the retreat.
Heidi presented the “How do I quilt this quilt” activity. Darlene, Heidi, Karen, Laurel, Kathryn shared their quilt tops.
Ruth announced upcoming quilt events. March 16 is National quilt day and Joe Cunningham will have a lecture on the National Quilt Museum site; March 23, 24 is the East Bay Heritage Quilt show in Oakland (EBHQ.org), SF fine arts museum has textile lecture, there is a fashion exhibition at the deYoung museum in San Francisco, the Textile museum association of Southern California has lectures, there will be a medallion exhibit by members of PVQA at PIQF, project quilting has a 1 week challenge, April 4/6-7 is the Silicon Valley MQG show.
We had the drawing for renewing membership and Diane won a beautiful quilt donated by Pam Rocco.
For Community outreach, members can either make 4 patches, or make a new block for the Social climber quilt.
