Retreat recap - Darlene and Ruth gave a recap of the retreat last weekend at Happy Valley. They shared the swag bags, the picado appliqué project, and the needle book project. Darlene requested photos of finished projects. The sponsors included Cactus pincushions made by Gene, Doc Stitches, Fabricworm, Northcott , Oliso, Quiltfolk, and Hobbs batting. Next year’s retreat will be the first weekend in May. We need new retreat coordinators for next year.

Demo by Lori - Lori demonstrated a clever way to match fabric patterns on quilt backs.
Demo with Sara - Sara demonstrated several techniques for painting fabric with Derwent inktense pencils, Crayon d’Arche Neo color pastels, and pentel fabric fun pastel dye sticks.
Judy - Judy brought two quilts that a friend would like to have quilted., Sara took one of the quilts.
Karen’s workshop , Medallion Mashup is scheduled for June 15. The cost will be $55. Sign ups will be available soon on the website.
Ruth informed the group about upcoming events. Saqa textile talks is next Wednesday at 11:00 and will be on Japanese quilting. QuiltCon challenges were just announced and can be found on the website.s
Charity quilt update - 3 tops have been finished and need labels. We need more star blocks and more ideas for quilt blocks.
