Secret Partner Pillow Swap

Can you believe our next meeting is less than a week away?!  6:30pm Tuesday August 7th Sue Dee’s Scotts Valley

If you’d like to take part in the Secret Partner Pillow Swap discussed last month please be SURE that you are able to commit to completing it for the Oct 2nd meeting because your partner will be counting on you.

Fill a sandwich or quart size zip lock baggy STUFFED with scraps from your stash that you’d like your secret partner to use in creating your pillow.
Write your first and last name with a Sharpy on the outside of the baggy.
Place it in a paper bag if you have one or hide it so others walking into the meeting can’t see it.

When you arrive at the meeting I will meet you at the door with a big basket so that you can 1) discretely drop it in 2) write your first and last name on a sign up list of participants.
At break, one by one we will have participants reach into the basket and pull out the bag of scraps to take home.
I will log who your partner is next to your name on the sign up sheet – you keep it hush, hush and my lips are sealed.

The majority of the fabric used to create the pillow should be from your partners baggy (at least 75% or so)
You may supplement with additional fabric from your stash based on what they have chosen to include.
Be creative, have fun, do the best you can.
Make it to fit an 18″ pillow form
You do not have to buy one for your partner, participants will provide their own.
The closure can be envelope style, a zipper, buttons, Velcro…
Don’t post progress pictures on flickr or blogs since your partner will recognize the fabric and it’ll spoil the surprise.

Bring it finished along with the unused scraps to present to your secret partner!
