- The roster has been sent out. Members can opt out if they wish.
- Vivian led a discussion on Slack. She went over the advantages of using Slack, especially how it is a private platform that is only accessible by members. Currently there are 46 members and 24 channels. It can also be used as a means to send messages. The link will be sent out to members of the guild.
- Heidi announced the March meeting activity- how do I quilt this? She explained that members can bring an unquilted quilt top to the next meeting and then there will be a discussion on quilting options. If you would like to participate, send a photo prior to the meeting so those attending online can see it.
- Karen discussed the recent fabric donation made to the guild from a quilter in Pebble beach. The fabric will be available for guild activities like the retreat and for the charity group.
- Next board meeting Feb 20th, everyone is invited.
- Ruth discussed the upcoming events. Regarding the PVQA show, you need the artist’s permission to post pictures of their work on social media according to the Pvqa . There is a new show at the quilt museum in San Jose by Jonathan Shannon. There are online classes available put on by Creative Spark.
- The next Sew day is Feb 17 at the First Congregational church.
- Jen put on a demonstration on how to tie a quilt.
- Jean put on a demonstration on Y seams.
- Basket donations for the PVQA show can be brought to Pats house.
- Retreat update by Darlene and Lori: The dates are May 2-5, Thursday from 4 pm to Sunday afternoon, the cost will be $405-480 depending on room type. Massages will be available at $115-160. The same Covid policy will apply as last year: testing prior to arrival, no mask mandate, vaccination required. Sign ups are on the website with a $60 deposit on PayPal. There will not be any refunds. Let Darlene know if you any financial hardships.
- Lori gave the treasurer update: there is $3292 in the bank account.
- Sew and tell: Jean, Kathy, Susan, Joan, Gayne, Mickey, Laura, Laurel, and Jen shared.
