Pajaro Valley Quilt Assn Show, Feb 21-22, Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds

PVQA’s quilt show, The Way We Were, runs next weekend, Feb. 21-22, and it’s sure to have lots of interesting and inspiring things to look at. There’s a fashion show, live auction, plus quilt challenges including When I Was Ten and California – the Golden State. Plus all those beautiful quilts made by local quilters! The 2015 Opportunity Quilt is based on the Burgoyne Surrounded quilt block, which celebrated an important American victory over the British during the Revolutionary War.

Midnight Surround

Three sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt be on display. The Names Project is a memorial to the 94,000-plus individuals who have died from AIDS. The quilt, which is internationally famous, was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and remains the largest community art project in the world.
